Lab head and Principal Investigator. I set up my lab in 1996 and since that time I have mentored and worked with scientists and engineers answering key questions about RNA biology.

I joined Ilan Davis' group as a lab manager and researcher. I am interested in understanding the molecular and genetic basis of behaviour and the complexity of communication between neurons and glial cells. I'm also a science communicator and illustraitor.

I am Ilan's lab manager and I also work on a large-scale screen seeking new RNA targets that localise in the Drosophila nervous system. I also work on ITVs quiz show The Chase.

I am interested in how post-transcriptional mechanisms govern neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation during brain development.

My project involves the application of adaptive optics to spinning-disc confocal microscopy systems for the study of Drosophila brains and other tissues. 

Biochemistry DPhil Student

I joined the lab in 2021 as a DPhil student and am based in the Ligoxygakis lab in Oxford. I am interested in how viral infection, particularly with Zika and Sindbis virus, affects neuroplasticity in the Drosophila neuromuscular junction
