Lab manager and Senior Postdoctoral Researcher
I am Ilan's lab manager and I also work on a large-scale screen seeking new RNA targets that localise in the Drosophila nervous system. I also work on ITVs quiz show The Chase.
Advanced microscopy and Senior Postdoctoral Researcher
I work using state-of-the-art and advanced imaging techniques as well as developing improved imaging methods and quantitative image analysis to investigate the molecular mechanism of RNA transport in Drosophila tissues.
Wellcome Postdoctoral Researcher
Here in the Davis lab I work on how phosphorylation influences the function of Syncrip, a critical gene of interest in our lab that is heavily involved in neurogenesis.
Leverhulme Postdoctoral Researcher
The development of the brain requires a complex series of cell fate decisions, frequently involving transcriptional regulation of key factors. I am interested in assessing how post-transcriptional processes contribute to the precise timing and outcome of these developmental transitions.
Wellcome Postdoctoral Researcher
In the Davis lab, I combine experimental, sequencing based techniques and bioinformatic data analysis to elucidate how RNA-binding proteins regulate neural stem cell differentiation.I also work together with the Castello lab on characterising the roles of RNA-binding proteins in viral infection.
Wellcome Postdoctoral Researcher
In the Davis lab I am investigating how specific RNA molecules behave near synapses during the process of cellular learning.
Biochemistry DPhil Student
I am interested in how post-transcriptional mechanisms govern neural stem cell proliferation and differentiation during brain development. Particularly, I will focus on the cis and trans-acting factors acting through highly extended 3'UTR in transcript regulations.
DTC iCase DPhil Student
I am DPhil student in the Davis lab, at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Oxford. I am developing machine learning software that automatically generates scientific hypotheses based on correlations between existing data and genome-wide bioinformatics data.
Biochemistry DPhil Student
I am working on the involvement of glia in synapse development at the neuromuscular junction. I also collaborate with engineers in Micron and in the Department of Engineering to help with microscopy technology development from the point of view of a biologist.
DTC iCase DPhil Student
My project involves the application of adaptive optics to spinning-disc confocal microscopy systems for the study of Drosophila brains and other tissues. This is in collaboration with my industrial partner Aurox and I am also jointly based in Martin Booth's lab in the engineering department.
MSc Student
My project centres on the role actin plays during synapse formation. I am working on understanding how mRNA regulates mRNA encoding actin binding proteins during activity-dependent synapse formation in Drosophila neuromuscular junctions.
Biochemistry/Scripps DPhil Student
I am interested in studying the complex regulation of RNA transport inside the long and thin nerves or axons of Drosophila, using genetics, biochemistry, and advanced microscopy and electron microscopy approaches.
BBSRC DPhil Student
Co-supervised by Prof. Jane McKeating
I am studying the viral infection dynamics of the Hepatitis B virus in human cells. Using advanced imaging techniques I am studying how the virus grows and spreads in our body.
