Tatiana Wilson

BBSRC DTP Student

I am a BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP student and my project focuses on understanding the regulation of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication by the host circadian system in the liver. Circadian rhythms are endogenously generated ~24 hour cycles that regulate many aspects of physiology and behaviour, including the transcriptional activity of cells. HBV is reliant on host transcriptional machinery to replicate. Understanding the interplay between circadian rhythms and HBV replication may provide new targets for treatment and a greater understanding of infection and disease progression. I am co-supervised by Prof. Jane McKeating
