Current Project

The role of actin during synapse formation

I started my MRes in Biochemistry in Davis lab in 2020. I’m working on the role of actin during synapse formation. I am part of Linacre College.

I am working on understanding how mRNA regulates mRNA encoding actin binding proteins during activity-dependent synapse formation in Drosophila neuromuscular junctions. I am also interested in developing computational methods to model biological processes.

Previous Work

Before joining, I completed my BSc in Computer Science and Biology at McGill University. In my Honour’s project, I applied unsupervised clustering and supervised regression algorithms to predict spatial localisation of samples in human substantia nigra and putamen with RNA microarray expression data.

Outside the Lab

In my spare time, I write for Oxford Science Journalism: https://oxsciencejournalism.wixsite.com/sciencejournalism. I also do Bob Ross paintings sometimes.
